Currently at NOSP, we are taking in the backstage as you would say. We haven't really done any thing big recently. Our last big concert event was a battle of the bands back in October I believe. But if anyones interested, let us know, and we'll see what we can do for you. Now then, here's our bio as of lately:
In early 2007, Michael helped start a band, Pierced Truth. Wanting a new name to separate themselves from having a name like anyone else, two months later they became Running Under Innocence. Wanting to book shows for the band and grow it from where they were, Michael soon began contacting people and places to get the band on the road. Soon, they were off and running, but that was short-lived. Having different goals and visions in mind, and contemplating if music was what he wanted to do, he dropped the band and that was seemingly the end. During this time of soloness (is that a word?), he found that he enjoyed working behind the scenes, helping bands to book shows and such. After about 6 months on his own, he had made his decision. Knowing that his shot at working with big name labels and businesses were slim, he soon came up with a vision and a plan. From this brainchild, North Of South Promotions was born. Michael had a vision of helping out all types of musicians and businesses, no matter what the cost, and doing what it took to follow through with it. After a rocky start, he finally managed to get his foot in the door.
Shortly thereafter, Nick and he soon came to talking about it late one night. Nick had a vision in mind even bigger than Michael's, and Michael liked it. Nick became an invaluable member of the North of South Promotions team. Nick's vision included a underground internet radio station, progressing into a actual radio station for unsigned bands in the future. While having both of those plans in place he also had a vision to then build up a private record label for those unsigned bands to then record and release their music to the world.
Having all of these long term plans in place, and with Nick gone, Michael soon came to needing more people to help meet these goals. Michael soon turned to a friend who has been established in the music scene for quite some time. Into the picture came Zach. Having been a musician for nearly a decade, been in several touring bands, and having what it takes to be a scout for talent, Zach has brought in many different aspects to the picture and has proven to be quite a valuable influence and asset. His schooling, as well as first-hand knowledge of music business have steered the team in the right direction.
Today, North of South Promotions works with many different bands, covering a broad spectrum of genres, as well as talent. Having kept the promise of working with anyone and everyone, solo artist or group, they have built up a roster of bands that would make any mother proud.
Today, North of South Promotions is run and operated by Michael. After so many of the people brought in have fallen away and gone on to other things. North of South is currently looking for new, great, and musically devoted people to add to its staff. We also work with many bands, artists, venues, and businesses across the nation, and even a few bands throughout Europe. We book, promote, manage, coordinate events, and so very much more. And by so much more, we mean everything related to music really!
In the latest moves NOSP has been working in its local town to help bring up a new and local skatepark. With this new project we have welcomed Zach E. To our team. We have also been trying to work things with Backstage Promotions and Doug C. to create a battle of the bands.
